Home lamination can also be performed using special compounds that can be bought in specialized stores on the Internet, but the safety of such a procedure will be questionable. It is better to entrust professional lamination to a specialist. At home, it is safer to limit yourself to gelatin.

Gelatin perfectly nourishes and evens hair, smoothes it, makes it stronger and shinier, eliminates brittleness. The cost of gelatin is cheap. The price of a bag of gelatin is from 30 rubles, in the salon, this procedure can cost from 1,500 to 2,000 rubles (depending on the salon and hair length).

The only disadvantage of home lamination with gelatin is fragility. The effect of the procedure is short-term (up to 2-3 head washes), but almost free of charge and without harm to the body.

Laminating hair at home: What you need

Gelatin (one 10-gram sachet for short hair, 2 sachets for medium length, 3 sachets for long hair). You also need any hair mask, shower cap and hairdryer.

Step-by-step instruction

1. Wash your hair with regular shampoo and dry it a little. Ideally apply the mixture to clean, damp and combed hair.

2. Dilute gelatin with hot water (temperature about 60 degrees). The norm for 10 grams of gelatin in 1/3 cup of water. The mass should be free of lumps. It is important to ensure complete uniformity, otherwise, the lumps will be difficult to remove from the hair later.

3. Mix warm gelatinous mass with 1 tablespoon of any hair mask. If the mass quickly cools and thickens, add a little more hot water and stir until smooth.

4. Quickly apply the warm mixture to the hair until the gelatin has cooled and thickened. The hair should be covered from root to tip, but the scalp should not be touched.

5. Style your hair on top of your head and put on a shower cap. You can replace the cap with cellophane wrap.

6. Start to warm up and cool down the hair alternately for half an hour. 

7. Wash off the mass with warm water without shampoo or other means. Gelatin is washed off a little longer than a regular mask. Dry hair and style as usual!
